It feels like summer today, so let’s talk about PNW senior portrait locations, specifically, our beaches.
Don’t let those rocky shorelines and lack of soft sand put you off.
Here are some of my favorite locale beaches. Check them out!
Across the bridge in cute Gig Harbor, WA is Narrows Beach Park. The bridge makes a stunning backdrop as well!
The historic little gem Steilacoom, WA has two shoreline options. The two shots below are taken at Salters Point.
These next two are at Sunnyside Beach.
Owens Beach in Point Defiance Park, Tacoma, is super popular, but we’ve always managed to use the abundant driftwood to our advantage.
Shooting away from the busy beach area and placing the water behind my senior client really made her “pop”.
The Westpoint Lighthouse with Discovery Park in Seattle was a new location for me when my clients requested it last summer. I would love to shoot here again!
I can’t leave out my senior guys. This client had access to a private beach area in Gig Harbor and we had the place to ourselves. What a treat and I love the long dock in the background!
Point Defiance is definitely one of the most requested locations and these two Bellarmine Prep Seniors both wanted to include Owens Beach in their senior portrait sessions.
Lake Washington Boulevard was another new location for me. There are a string of small parks along the water front and we visited several of them for this O’Dea High School senior.
Chambers Bay in University Place is a great option if you want a diverse location in one stop. Aside from its old concrete structures, grassy areas and bridge, there is a rocky beach and lots of driftwood, too.
If you are looking to include a beach location in your senior portrait session, we obviously have many great options. Maybe you have a new location in mind that we could explore together to make your senior portrait experience truly unique!
