Anna Lisa Photography » Custom high school senior portrait photography on location in the Tacoma and Seattle Washington area

What to expect

The first thing to know is that I will walk you through each step of the process, from booking to delivery, during a brief pre-session consultation.

This is the time to book your date on my calendar, review all of the details for your shoot, and answer any questions so that when the day arrives, you can relax and be in the moment.

A few things to consider:

Location.  Do you have an idea or feel for your shoot in mind?  Do you need some ideas?  Urban settings are really versatile and can offer up architectural elements that add a touch of class or a little fun to your portrait session.  We have an abundance of parks and beaches to choose from if you prefer a more natural setting.  Is there a location that is significant to you and your family?  I’m always interested in new locations.  As a natural light photographer, the majority of my sessions are outdoors.  This can pose a challenge in the PNW, so covered areas and window light are our best friends on rainy days.

What to wear?  First and foremost, you need to be comfortable.

Families there is no need to match!  Colors that are complimentary to one another are best as they allow you, your family and your relationships with one another to be the focus.

Seniors, this is your time to shine.  You should have at least three outfits.  Think classic, dressy and then fun.  Pinterest is a great place to get some wardrobe, hair and makeup, and location ideas, but please remember, this session is about you.  Pinterest is best used as a tool of inspiration, rather than as the rulebook.  When choosing your outfits, just keep in mind how the clothes will fall in a variety of poses as well as ease in changing on location.  If in doubt, bring a number of options with you, or I’m happy to work with you ahead of time.  Well-done hair and makeup should enhance your natural look, not mask it.

Now, relax!  My goal is to capture your personality and your relationships in an easy-going and relaxed manner and provide you with a work of art for your home that you will cherish for years to come.

After your session, we will schedule a date and time to sit down and look at your fully edited proofs.  This is also the ordering session so it is vital that anyone necessary for decision making is present and that you have thought about what you would like in terms of products (prints, canvas, books), where you would like to display these items and who else will be receiving them.  The more you think it through ahead of time results in a stress-free ordering session.  Once I receive your order back from the professional lab service and check each piece, I will deliver your beautiful portraits to you.

Lastly, thank you!  Your business is much appreciated.
