Recently, I met up with Cameron and his family at Pt. Defiance Park.  We started off with cap and gown pictures because Cameron is graduating from Puyallup High School next month.

Congratulations Cameron and the Class of 2022!

I photographed Cameron’s senior portraits last year, but this time I got to meet the rest of the family.  Cameron’s sister, Kelli, is finishing up her junior year and I’m excited to work with her later this summer!

    Proud parents Stephanie and Ron.

Senior year is bittersweet in general and Stephanie’s T-shirt sums it up perfectly: “Senior mom 2022.  I’m not crying – you’re crying.”

Cameron, I hope you enjoy these last few weeks of senior year and have an awesome graduation day.  Best wishes as you begin your new chapter at WSU!  Congratulations Munson family!

It’s been a few years since I’ve shot at the Spanish Steps in Tacoma, so I’m thrilled that Kate picked this location for her senior session.  Kate is a senior at Puyallup High School and will be graduating in just a few short weeks with the class of 2022.

The Spanish Steps were bustling with activity, especially with people enjoying the out door cafe just a few feet away.  I love how it looks like we had the whole place to ourselves.  We couldn’t have asked for nicer weather, either.Outside of school, Kate enjoys playing waterpolo, hanging out with friends and attending concerts.

Kate changed outfits and we worked our way down Broadway looking for interesting spots to use as backdrops.  There is no shortage of great location in downtown Tacoma!

There are fun architectural elements and street art everywhere you look and I love incorporating those into senior portrait  sessions.  This location was the perfect vibe for Kate.

After graduation, Kate and family will be heading to Europe for an amazing trip to Italy and Spain.  I’m pretty sure I could fit into someone’s suitcase, right, Jeannie?

Come fall, it’s off to the University of Washington to study pre-law/political science or psychology.  Have a fantastic last few weeks of senior year, enjoy all of your graduation activities and Go Dawgs!  Best wishes, Kate, in all of your new endeavors!

Another trip to Seattle took me to St. James Cathedral to photograph this O’Dea high school senior.  It took all of 2 seconds after meeting Gino to realize this is one outgoing and polite teenager!  Do I even need to point out his impeccable style fashion?  No, I didn’t think so.  Take heed senior guys.  Here comes some serious style inspiration for planning what to wear.  While this is Gino’s take on expressing his individual style, you can take definitely take away some important and easy points for dressing as you scroll through the images.  Number one is fit.  You want clothes that flatter and look good in a variety of poses.  You will be standing, sitting, and squatting.  Make sure you choose clothes that drape nicely, without pinching or puckering, and move with you. Number two is layers.  Layers can add contrast, interest, texture.  Layers are also a great way to change up an outfit by simply removing or adding a layer. Number three is details and/or accessories.  Make sure you bring the appropriate shoes and socks for your wardrobe choices.  If you like ties, hats, shoes, or watches, bring them.  These items add variety to your images and are so easy to incorporate and quickly change out.

With all of the wardrobe talk out of the way, let’s get on to Gino’s senior session!  We started out with a few images in front of the main gates to O’Dea high school before crossing the street to the Cathedral.

When your senior guy asks for a picture with Our Lady, your heart melts just a little bit!  Gino even gave me a brief tour of his favorite spots inside the Cathedral.

The Cathedral grounds provide some amazing backdrops, like the beautiful bronze doors, as well as some city scapes.

At the time of our session, Gino was still deciding between San Diego State University and Oregon State University to pursue a degree in business or communications.  No doubt, he will blaze a path from either location.

Gino was incredibly at ease and confident in front of the camera which made photographing him so much fun.  I feel like his personality really came through in his images.  And, I just had to take an accessories shot.  Check out these shoes!

When your high school is literally in the middle of a bustling city, inevitably a taxi will pull up and park in your shot!  Gino says it’s all part of the urban vibe!

Just by turning around, we got another great angle of the Seattle skyline. With one last outfit change, we got a couple more shots around the school Gino has called home for the past four years. Graduation is fast approaching.  I hope you soak up all the good memories you can in these last few weeks with family, friends, and classmates.  Have a fantastic time in Italy this summer with your family and enjoy a gelatto for me!

These soon-to-be Bishop Blanchet grads are not only a brother and sister duo, but twins, Nick and Natalie.  In just a few short weeks, they’ll be graduating with the Class of 2022.

I met Nick and Natalie, along with their mom, at the historic military houses at Discovery Park.  The weather was incredible for early April and it lasted exactly one day!  This was really timely as these two seniors are busy with school, sports and work, so I’m thrilled we were able to shoot on the first day the twins were available.

We got a some great pictures of Nick and Natalie together, but I really wanted to focus on each of them as individuals.  I couldn’t help but notice, though, that they do have the same gorgeous blue eyes and smiles!Their mom, Tara, had one request and that was we get some images of Nick and Natalie in their college sweatshirts.  Nick will be heading off to Carroll College in Helena, MT later this summer.  He plans on studying Computer Science, and when he’s not busy with classes, he’ll be kicking for the football team.Natalie, on the other hand, will be playing soccer for Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego and majoring in nursing. It was the middle of the afternoon, but we were determined to get some beach pictures at the end of the session!  Congratulations Natalie and Nick!  I hope you have a fantastic last few weeks of senior year and wish you all the best as you begin your college adventures.

Gosh, it had been more years than I realized since I saw Suzy last!  I had the privilege to photograph Suzi’s lovely twin girls and I was so excited that Susie reached out to me when she needed portraits of her own.

Suzi recently switched careers.  After several decades in the banking industry, she decided to follow her love for real estate, got her license and has embarked on a completely new career.

We met in downtown Gig Harbor, WA for Suzi’s headshot photo session and could not have had more beautiful weather.  It was quite cold, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at Suzi’s images.  I think she did a fantastic job!

Congratulations, Suzi!  I wish you all the best on your new adventure and thank you so much for thinking of me!  It was a privilege to be of service to you!

    All the best,

    Anna Lisa
