This is Annaliese, and she is a senior at Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma.  The weather has been a mixed bag lately and played havoc in scheduling her session.  We had already moved the date on the calendar, and even as we were driving to meet at Narrows Park in Gig Harbor, it was pouring rain.  Seeing some blue skies in the distance, we decided to wait it out.  Thank goodness we did.  We were rewarded with a beautiful afternoon!

Annaliese can go from full on smile to serious stare down the lens like a pro.

She’s a natural in front of the camera and a total joy to photograph.

Annaliese loves autumn, so she was happy to incorporate some pretty fall leaves into her session.  I love that she could have a little fun with it, too!

Annaliese is full of confidence and radiates the most bubbly vibe.

Annaliese wanted to slip her shoes off and get her feet in the water for the last few shots.  She was expecting it to be cold, but her face says, “it’s REALLY COLD!”

Cold, aching feet could not diminish her vivacious spirit.

Annaliese, thank you so much for a great afternoon at the beach.  You knocked your senior session out of the park…and back!  Enjoy cheer and serving on the Eucharistic Ministry team.  This year is going to fly by!  Hang on tight and have a fantastic senior year!

It never fails to amaze me just how quickly time passes.  This beautiful Stadium High School senior is also my niece, and I vividly remember her as a baby!  She has grown into a smart and confident young woman, lover of all things math and dance.

Katherine chose the University of Puget Sound as the starting point for her recent senior session and the campus does not disappoint!  As an architecture fan, it has ivy-covered brick buildings and arches galore.

We were treated to hints of fall as well, so the pops of color were a fun edition to Katherine’s photos.

There’s nothing more beautiful than her quiet confidence, genuine smile and an elegance in the way she carries herself.

The “Katherine top knot” was incorporated for a few shots.  Whether her hair is up or down, I love the little curls that appear!

In addition to the classic buildings, there were loads of flowers still blooming around campus, and we found lots of pretty spots to shoot.

It’s also fun to incorporate a little bit of whimsy into the session.  Katherine is so comfortable in front of the camera!

So, when your high school looks like a castle, you need to make one more outfit change and hustle over to Stadium for the last bit of evening light!

It’s just magical at this hour.

Katherine, I had a great time roaming UPS and Stadium with you, catching up and hearing about your future plans.  I hope this senior year is filled with good friends and great memories in the making.  Enjoy it all!  You always have my best wishes as you study your way through senior year to graduation and beyond.  Love you!

Recently, I found myself in the quaint town of Gig Harbor for a senior session and had an amazing evening with this senior.  Meet Bailey, class of 2019 at Bellarmine Prep!

Bailey chose a casual outfit to start things off, and I love this color on her!  She looks gorgeous and this setting was so pretty.

I think Bailey’s smile literally lights up her whole face.  It’s just pure joy!

She also has a quiet confidence about her and it always makes me happy to see girls who are confident!

Don’t get me started on her brown eyes.  Beautiful!

After walking and shooting along the waterfront for awhile, we drove a few minutes to the family farm for some tall grass shots.

Bailey’s dark hair and her gorgeous top added such a pretty pop of color against the background.  Perfect wardrobe choice!

    Natural and confident beauty.

And there’s that smile that makes me smile!

Her family’s farm has this spectacular Weeping Willow tree.  I love the filtered light coming through the branches.  It was magical!

How nice to have a sister, a twin sister at that, to share in life’s journey!  We got a few sister shots with Brooke during the evening, and there is so much about this picture that I just love.

Ok. Confession time.  Bailey was not a fan of this dress, but when I saw these pictures on my computer, I knew I had to include them.  She looked fantastic in all of her images, but these just shouted out to me.  Simply stunning!

One last location to end our session, and could there be a more scenic spot than this?

Bailey, thank you for such a great evening!  I had the best time with you, your mom and sister, Brooke.  I hope you enjoy your senior year and all of the swirl of activities and friends that make it so special.  Wherever your path takes you after graduation, I wish you every success!  Go Lions!

Meet Brooke, a senior at Bellarmine Prep with the Class of 2019!

I don’t make it over the Narrows Bridge very often, but I couldn’t have asked for a prettier day to do it or a sweeter family to explore this little harbor town with!

Isn’t this a gorgeous backdrop?  Brooke’s striped jumpsuit was so cute and casual, especially paired with the jean jacket and sneakers.  She fit right in with the nautical location.

Brooke’s an absolute natural in front of the camera.

Our next stop took us to the family farm where Brooke wanted to get some shots in the tall grass.  She looks just stunning!

When we saw the swing, we knew we had to use it.  The sunlight filtering in through the Weeping Willow was magical!

After a quick outfit change, we walked down the long drive to another pretty spot on the farm.

Brooke radiates a natural confidence, and there is nothing prettier than when a girl looks comfortable in her own skin.

One last location change took us back to this scenic spot along the harbor as the sun was starting to dip down.

This senior session was nothing short of delightful.  Not only did I get to meet Brooke and her mom, but I was able to photograph Brooke’s twin sister, Bailey, as well.  I imagine having a sister to walk life’s journey right along with you is pretty special.  We did a few sister shots throughout the evening, but there was no better way to end this session than with this sweet shot.

Brooke, I wish you a fantastic senior year!  Enjoy all it has to offer, and hang on tight, because it goes by fast.  Thank you for an awesome evening.  I had the best time with you, your mom and sister.  I wish you every success as you decide which path to follow after graduation!
